New
Campaign
Begun
on 03/12/22, this campaign started in the
Hestrillite Empire with some very tall adventurers
and one small female. The players consist of a
female 1/2 tabaxi rogue named Tall'ya, a male
black dragonborn fighter, a male human barbarian
named Marrow, a male wood elf fighter named Naeris,
and a male earth genasi paladin named Pom. After
recruiting a female Kharamisian fighter named
Mara, a warforged ranger monster hunter named
Cirro (Unit 11583), and his supportforged
companion Bug, the party has set out northward to
the city of Kentarl to take in The Blazoro
Spectacle and the fair that draws in people from
all over.
Mara has
been killed, Pom has left for parts unknown, and
Cirro and bug are serving a local lord now. The
good news is that Borea the Cleric of Ya-Nu has
joined the party as well as Zixie, who loves her
some barbarian convict! Pom has returned, and
Paran the spite (that Kriv rescued) has joined the
party.

the Sun Elf Warlock who has a taste for those
on the same team, Rorok the ever-stern Dwarven
Fighter with the incredibly soft beard, and
Solek the devilishly handsome monk of Hades
who must be kept alive at all costs because
the world would weep at the loss of such a
iconic hero.

The
Good Campaign
This
is a campaign that I've been working on for a
great many years. Only recently has it
advanced into high levels with a group that
started in 2017. It's called the "Good"
campaign because the group was made up of
those who were of generally good alignment and
were (in most cases) willing to do the right
thing. Below are some of the bullet points
that are relevant to this campaign. I'll put
bits and pieces that I remember from the
advancement of the PCs as I can remember them.
If I miss something or mess something up, let
me know so that I can change it and/or ad it.
Here we
go.
The
campaign started in the Kingdom of Regdon,
specifically in the capitol known as Regdon
City. They had arrived, like many others, to
enjoy the anniversary of King Ehlos Bolgar's
ascension to the throne. A year and six months
ago, King Worath had been lost somewhere near
the border of Gorth. After months of
searching, he was pronounced lost and Ehlos
crowned. After the crowing ceremony, a dragon
appeared and tried to kill the new king, only
to be driven away. This was a complete
surprise, since dragons had left the kingdom
over a thousand years ago. (see the history of
Regdon on the continents page)
After
arriving at the city for the king's
anniversary, the party witnessed the murder of
a performing magician before becoming involved
with the wizards' guild in finding the
culprits. Joining the party was Gaius, the
nephew of the head of the Royal Wizard's guild
(a man named Porodon).
Now at
this time, the party had become aware that
wizards, who were normally feared, revered,
and/or respected as a rule, were being looked
at in an even more negative way than before.
Groups of people, including those of
influence, were discrediting wizards, who were
also blamed for the recent rash of dragon
attacks on towns located at the edges of the
kingdom. The dragons were specifically
targeting wizards enclaves and temples of
Celphea. The party also discovered that a
mysterious disease was infecting wizards
everywhere, a disease they had no clue how to
cure, even with magic.
The dragon
attacks later turned out to be significant.
The first crown of Regdon was created by the
priests of Celphea and the king's wizard,
which allowed him to control the dragons and
tip the tide of battle in the favor of his
forces. After the barbarians were conquered,
King Regdon wanted to prove to the dragons
they would never be enslaved again unless the
need were severe. King Regdon disassembled the
crown. He gave the crown to the wizards to
keep, and the stones that were in the crown to
the priests to guard. Only if the current
king, the wizards, and the priests agreed that
the crown was needed would they ever assemble
it again. Since the priests and wizards
traditionally didn't get along well, the
chances of them agreeing to reassemble the
crown was slim. The dragons were not impressed
and left the land for other climes. The party
began to suspect that the dragons had returned
to try and find the pieces of the crown and
destroy them so that the crown could never be
used to control them again.
The
current party did some investigating and found
that the murderer of the performing magician
turned out to be the father of a dirt poor
family (the Barquells) who had lost all of
their lands. The mother of the family had been
kidnapped and a mysterious person was
instructing the father to kill wizards. The
Barquells would also raid caravans and take
the stolen merchandise to forest and dump it
onto a magical circle that made it all
disappear. The party found itself running from
some goblins one day and jumped onto the
circle. They wound up in a prison cell.
Porodon came to them and they realized he was
the one behind the murders. Porodon gave the
group a choice of being teleported to another
land far away with the warning that they would
die if they ever interfered with him again, or
be killed immediately. The party chose to live
and was teleported to the land of Brighkly.
They had
many adventures that led them to the cities of
Barrackus and Rorus to the north. At some
point, Gaius decided to strike out on his own
and left the party. Along the way, the party
found one of the Crystals of Gremlidone, one
of five crystals that held the imprisoned life
forces of five elementalist wizards that
served the White Queen centuries ago when she
tried to take over the world.
At some
point, the party learned that Porodon had fled
his post and was nowhere to be found. The
significance of his absence was that only he
(being the head of the royal Regdon Wizards'
Guild) knew the location of the 1st crown of
Regdon. Without it, King Ehlos Bolgar had no
way to control the attacking dragons and save
his people. A critical focus was placed upon
finding him.
While in
Regdon City, the party gained an ally in the
king's closest advisor, Lord Seitar Ekrania.
Seitar's focus was to save lives from the
dragons and was keen on helping the party
acquire the crown. His servant, a mysterious
man named Ailen, went along with the party.
The party
found a wizard in the desert who proposed that
if they could find Gaius (Porodon's nephew),
that they could find out through him where
Porodon was. The party sought out a hag's
help. They went to sleep and she sent them
into a waking dream world where they hope to
find Gaius's dreams. They were successful but
were thwarted in seeing the memory of Gaius
that would show them where Porodon was. There
seemed to be some spirit or other being who
was intent on protecting Gaius in the dream.
The party struck a deal with the being where
it would tell them where Gaius was located if
they helped him find his dead father's lair
and get him safely there. The being said she
would tell the party Porodon's location once
that task was complete.
The party
helped Gaius find his father's mountain home
to the north of Brighkly. There, they found a
place that was rich in knowledge and mystery.
What they also found was that when Gaius
touched his father's staff, his life force was
sucked inside. Percival (Gaius's father) then
took over Gaius's body. The party didn't know
this right away. The spirit that had been
protecting Gaius came forth and introduced
herself as Ora, a succubus who had been
summoned by Percival when Gaius was born. Her
spirit was to stay with Gaius and protect him.
Percival had tasked her with getting Gaius to
his home once he died so that he could use the
body to be reborn.
The party
finally learned that Porodon now resided on
the Isle of Woe, where a fallen goddess of
terrible power and hideousness resided. Her
gaze purportedly turned creatures to stone.
The party eventually made their way south and
chartered a boat to take them halfway to the
island, where they were left in a rowboat. The
found the island to be surrounded by a
bottomless chasm that sucked the ocean in.
They also discovered that the island was
protected by an anti magic barrier. With
cunning, skill, and luck, they managed to get
past the barrier and land on the island.
There, they battled a hydra before finding a
blind man named Vereny.
Vereny was
somewhat helpful but very hungry. In a nearby
temple, food would magically appear at dawn.
But whenever Vereny tried to get to it,
monsters would come and eat the food and keep
Vereny away. The party eventually agreed to
kill the monsters. They also found the
entrance to Porodon's underground lair. Their
attempt to infiltrate went somewhat badly.
They did find out that Porodon had given the
crown to Auralia, the fallen goddess.
The party
decided to make their way into the lair of
Auralia to take her down and get the crown.
They battled several nasty creatures. In a
dark temple, they found many statues in
alcoves. They decided to free three of them to
gain their help in taking down Auralia. The
three were Krum Fireaxe, Xyriax the elven
wizard, and Bon Crofft, the paladin of
Hstinzi. The new additions to the party were
more than eager to help. Among the statues was
King Worath, the lost king who held Regdon's
throne before his cousin Ehlos took over.
Worath
demanded to see Porodon. The party showed him
the way. After a conversation with Porodon,
Worath told the party that the wizard was
sending him and Ailen back to Regdon City.
Porodon also agreed to send the party to
Regdon City once they acquired the crown.
The party
dove back down into Auraia's lair and worked
their way through some baddies until meeting
Auralia herself.
